I am thrilled to be posting about Invisible Universe, a project by M. Asli Dukan. Dukan is creating a documentary about Blackness in speculative fiction. She has posted an inspiring 4-minute video tribute to Octavia. To see the tribute, go to Invisible Universe, click the Octavia E. Butler tab (left navigation, near the bottom), and then click on Tribute Video (at the bottom of the page). The first half of the video contains tribute footage set to music, while the second half contains an excerpt from the documentary.

"Invisible Universe: A history of blackness in speculative fiction explores the relationship between the Black body and popular fantasy, horror and science fiction literature and film and the alternative perspectives produced by creators of color." Dukan has conducted interviews with major artists, including Octavia Butler, who are working in a variety of media.
