Many years ago, I was taking a bus trip to Eureka to visit my children.  I was honored to be on the same bus with Octavia and she was kind enough to keep me company.  I even felt quite safe and very much in her care.  She was headed North to get info for her next book.  She gave me a copy of Parable of the Sower and signed it.  I still have it and am sorry we lost touch.  She was a special and delightful person to have had the priviledge of meeting.
